About Us
The Lucid Art Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was co-founded in the fall of 1998 by Robert Anthoine, Fariba Bogzaran, and Gordon Onslow Ford in order to explore the relationship between art, consciousness and nature through art exhibitions, publications and seminars for artists.
The mission of the Lucid Art Foundation is to explore the phenomena of the inner worlds and deep levels of consciousness through visual arts, spontaneous painting, and writings, and by other means, and in this way to make visible the invisible and find a more inclusive way of seeing that is in deeper harmony with natural world of which we are a part.
To carry out its mission, the Foundation engages in a variety of activities, including collection management and archiving; hosting quarterly and annual seminars for professional artists and art students; and organizing public lectures by art historians, scholars and artists.
Does the Lucid Art Foundation give grants?
The Lucid Art Foundation is not a grantmaking institution. As a private operating foundation, it generates projects, for which it often, in fact, seeks grant funding. However, the Foundation has periodically presented small grants to organizations with which it has co-sponsored events and projects. This process is driven and approved by the Board of Directors.
How can I be more involved with the Foundation?
Join the Foundation's mailing list and specify your interest (events, artist seminars, publications, and so on). They mail information periodically about upcoming events, exhibitions, publications and projects. To join the list, please send your name, mailing address and email address to quest@lucidart.org
If you want to attend one of the Foundation's artist seminars, please view Artist Seminars where you will find information on applying.
If you would like to volunteer at the public events, email quest@lucidart.org with “volunteer” in the title and include a brief introduction about your interests and background along with your resume in the body of the email. Please note that the Foundation may not always have openings for volunteers.
Can I visit the Foundation in person?
The Foundation does not have a public location yet. However, it organizes public events in various locations. Please visit our website events.
I am an artist; can I send my work to the Foundation to be reviewed?
The Foundation has no formal review process at this time, but is interested in artists whose work is in line with the mission of the Foundation. Such artists are encouraged to send images and artist statements that will be placed in the Foundation's files and be reviewed for special exhibitions or events. Please continue to check the website for updates.
Where can I see the artwork in the collection?
The Foundation will be curating rotating online exhibitions on their website in the Virtual Museum.
The Foundation’s collection is stored in various professional art storage facilities. The works from the collection are periodically loaned to museums and galleries in the United States and internationally. Please view Public Exhibitions to find current exhibitions that feature works from the Foundation’s collection.
Does the Foundation appraise artwork?
The Foundation does not appraise artwork. Please consult auction houses or professional appraisers.
