David Bailey is a poet and views his poetry as “an invitation to return to the simple wonder of being here. By lifting the curtain of the ordinary from both the inner and outer terrain, [my] poems offer an opportunity to take a fresh glance at the heart of each moment….[I] spent three years living abroad, mostly in India and Nepal. There [I] discovered a rich corollary between the expression of poetry and the inquiry into existential questions such as, ‘Who and what am I?’ At this time, [I] feel that there has never been a greater need for what poetry can offer, in its power to remind us of our shared experience and to invite us to feel the earth beneath our feet as home.” Bailey’s poetry is deeply connected with his natural environment. His latest poems reflect a deep relationship with inner and outer ecology.

Bailey’s first book of poetry Journeywork was published by Mount Vision Press in 2016. Born in Texas, he now lives and works in Inverness, California.
