Elizabeth Betsy Kellas is a painter, printmaker, mixedmedia sculptor, and art educator. She writes: “My work explores the visual and psychological impact of abstracted narratives and non-representational images.” She is interested in exploring and creating work that comes from the place where self and other meet in immediate awareness, and beyond which the knower and the known are one. For her this is the “phenomena of the inner world.” To do this kind of work requires “deep levels of consciousness.” She works in several mediums and often explores a variety of themes simultaneously. Her work is based in abstract expressionism, Dada, and her early training as a printmaker.

Kellas’ work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and Dubai. She was born in Gaylord, Minnesota, and she lives and works in Point Richmond, California.
