Hannah Alex-Glasser has worked in clay sculpture since 1989, following an international career as a professional ballet and contemporary dancer. She is primarily self-taught in working with clay, which is informed by her extensive visual arts training and experience as a dance artist. She writes: “My work grows out of a feeling of fundamental connection with nature, whose beauty, complexity, and integrity have been, for me, a constant source of centering and awe. My work is inspired by the observable natural environment, the archaic substances, and forces of our given world, but it is equally rooted in the symbolic realm of the inner world and in the experience of being human.”

Alex-Glasser’s work has been shown across California and Washington. She is the owner of Driftwood Modern in Edmonds, Washington, a gallery focusing on original mid-century Modern art and furniture. She was born in Los Angeles, California and lives and works in Edmonds, Washington.
